Move It 2013

It was the annual dance event Move It this weekend. For those who havent been before Move It is the chance for dancers and dance fans to do classes, watch showcases and performances as well as visit stands promoting dance schools, clothing and related products. I went on the Saturday and started off by looking around the stands before doing the first out of 4 classes I’d booked onto. Although my main style is street dance I decided to mix it up this year and did a contemporary, burlesque, house and breaking class. My favourite of the day was the house class. It was a fast paced class with great energy, which I certainly got a workout from!
As well as doing and watching snippets of classes there were some great performances on the main stage. Highlights included charlie Bruce, contestants from this years got to dance competition and judge Kimberly. My favourite of the day without a doubt was Lukas Mcfarlane. His routine was incredible and effortless- he difinitely has my vote for got to dance this year! I was lucky enough to pop along to the studio 68 stand where he was and got to meet with and chat to him.
Last year was very busy and had such a buzz about it. There was also a freestyle battle cage last year which wasn’t there this time, which I was a little disappointed about. There also seemed to have more classes on offer and a wider variety of things to look at. However all in all it was still a good day out and lovely to see how many people are actually inspired by dance and have it as a part if their lives.
